Don’t Pray for More Power. Pray for This.

When Paul prayed for the Ephesians he didn’t ask God to give them more power.  Instead, he prayed they would comprehend the power available to them.  Specifically, he asked God to enable them to understand that they have access to the same power God used when he raised Jesus from the dead and seated him at his right hand.

While men can split the atom and land on the moon, they can’t overcome death.  Yet, God can and did.  And every follower of Christ can experience the power God used to raise Jesus.  The next time you’re faced with a problem that seems too big for you to handle, don’t pray for more power.  Instead, ask God to help you utilize the power you currently possess in Christ (Ephesians 1:18-23).
